GLORIOUS
Hurray! The sun is rising! This is how I start my day. Usually I'm settled in with my cup of tea with the dogs sleeping at my feet. There's a symphony of geese that starts with the first glimpse of light. Today, the bay is mostly frozen and there's a bitter wind. It is COLD, but BEAUTIFUL. Here's wishing you a gorgeous day. :-) H.

Purple Cow Labyrinth
I got some pretty purple parachute fabric when I was at the fabric store, so I played with a smaller labyrinth. This one measures 5 X 6 1/2 feet & is a variation on the Yoga East labyrinth. The lanes are 8 inches wide and it has a separate entrance & exit for multiple walkers.
Purple is my favourite colour. I used gold metallic paint and then had some extra space so I put a drawing of a purple cow in there for fellow purple cowgirls, poetry, & Seth Godin fans. And then! I did a layer of glow-in-the-dark paint, which doesn't really translate for the photo. I just created an eBay account & listed it. And it doesn't pop up under searches for "purple cow", "labyrinth" or the obvious "purple cow labyrinth" Hehhhh... and then I had to go through a labyrinth (ha ha except I'm not kidding & it would be funny except it's not) just to reach the "contact us" button. So when I find my listing, I'll add a link. Bidding starts at $25....

Quote-of-the-Day
One of the tasks of adulthood, in my view, is to look at what has been laid down in our brains early on and decide whether we want to keep that as part of our worldview. Certainly anything that got programmed as limitation of our possibilities needs to be examined and consciously kept or ejected. ~Ellen Burstyn

Heart Labyrinth

I've had a creative week of labyrinth designs, and I'm almost finished with my new CD script for Labyrinth Path to the Heart. And this is a rendition of my heart labyrinth design. I'll have a new floor canvas of it for the seminar at Yoga East on Sat. Feb. 10th.
From Dungeony basement to art studio
This is a belated but v. sincere THANK YOU to my mother for helping me create an art space to paint my labyrinth canvases. As we started, we found an open window. Before you read the next bit, imagine Mum sounding like Mary Poppins. OK, here's the dialogue:
Me: A snake could come through an open window.
Mum: Snakes are hybernating right now.
Me: They only hybernate because it's cold and they freeze. The basement is warm and toasty.
[And THEN! Just as I say that, I see a snake in the corner!]
Me: See? Here's a snake!
Mum: It's not. It's just the skin. [She picks up this petrified, black THING]
Me: Mum, you can see the spine. LOOK! Right there! THIS [pointing to wispy-dangly strand] is the skin!
Mum: Well! It's not alive!
Me: What gave that away? The fact that it's petrified into a permanent "S" or that it's missing its head?
Mum: Oh, shut up.
I could not & would not have tackled the basement without her. THANKS, MUM. I LOVE YOU.
P.S. And thanks to Terry for installing dehumidifyers & sump pumps to keep things dry & warm. :-) You're the BEST, Jerry!
