M&M Monday

Maggie and Millie have been enJOYing these summery days outside. Here are a few pix I took out my living room window:

Hanging out with the laundry.

I love seeing Millie doing this!

Memorial Day Weekend

For me, Memorial Day weekend has always been the official start of summer; warm weather and whatnot. For others, it's a time of sales for everything from lawn thingies to mattresses. For most people it means a cook-out and perhaps a Cakewreck for dessert:

Nothing says "Remember" like a gloppy, geometry-defying flag.

And then last year I saw Andy Rooney talking about Memorial Day:

And it got me thinking. Memorial Day is a day to give thanks for our freedom that we take for granted. It's a day to honour those boys who fought in World War II and never came home to be grandfathers today. They are the reason we're not all speaking Germanese. So in honour of picnics and family and American freedom:

WWJT?

What Would Jesus Tweet?

@mothermary what time is the wedding? Should I bring something? All I got is water.

Dear @moneylenders No, I'm not sorry. You should be ashamed. Lucky for you this isn't the Old Testament or you'd be in 4 some smiting.

Check out new blog post on revised & simplified 10 commandments. I edited it down to just 2. You're welcome.

2 commandments: Love God with all thy heart. Love thy neighbor as thyself. P.S. Loving thy neighbor implies not killing them, etc.

@peter Come, follow me. Fish on Friday?

Follow Friday @matthew @mark @luke @john

@lazarus take up your bed and walk.

Yes I CAN swim, it was just easier to walk on water that day. Sheesh. Should I swim in the earth for you, too?

@james Where are the fish & loaves? Must I do EVERYTHING? Oh, never mind, I'll take care of it.

In the market square hangin with @harlotmary and @disciples. Put down your stones, people! Nothing to see, here!

@SisterMary thanks for the reflexology and aromatherapy. OMG my feet feel fantastic!

To the woman who touched my robe: you're healed. You're welcome.

RT@blindbutnowcansee Thank God for Jesus!

Going back home to Nazareth with @joseph @mothermary @harlotmary & @disciples

Hey tweeps, going to the desert, back in 40 days.

Sitting in the garden with @God talking about cups.

Heading back into Jeruselum to have dinner with my homies.

@peter Yes! See you there! Happy to have such a faithful follower.

LOL Good one! RT @eddieizzard "Take this wine, it's a merlot."

@judas Really? For 30 pieces of silver? #thissucks

To the guy who speared me: I forgive you.

Forgiveness for everyone! It's on me. You're welcome.

@mothermary & @harlotmary go to the cave in 3 days. I've got a surprise for you.

@thomas NOW do you believe? Sheesh.

OK, tweeps. That's it for now. Go out and do good works, I'll be back in a coupla 1000 years.

Favourite Things

So I was at Gabe's and I went to the dressing room and this was on the door:

Hmmm . . . right now? Mangoes. YUM.

Queen Anne

Mum is now in Poland to do a Habitat build. You may recall her build in Hungary. So she's off to do another one. She bought her own hat because she said she doesn't want to wear someone else's sweaty hat. Eeewwww!

Mum models her hat. I'm sure it'll get graffitied with "Queen Anne."

I found a 4-leaf clover for good luck for Mum:

Mum said, "Really? How do you DO that?!" Good luck, Mum!

Mum waves good-bye.

M&M Monday

This week in the world of Millie and Maggie . . .

A few days ago, a little bird flew into the house. Maggie saw it fly in and she darted out onto the porch!

I managed to get a towel and catch it.

In the past I've shown Millie getting snarly about her food. She usually starts it. Well, here's Maggie!

Here's Millie pretending not to care:

"I don't care."

Grrrr . . . I'm ferocious.

"Still. Don't care."

Hahahaha

Mum Post

You may remember my post about Mum and the VLC (Very Large Creature) living under her house. Yesterday I was at her house having proper tea, and I heard . . . something. It sounded like a baby something and it was scratching around the access panel in the hallway.

Me: Listen. Do you hear that?
Mum: What?
[scritchy-scratching noise with a bit of a baby-cry]
Me: That.
Mum: I don't hear anything.
Me: It's coming from the access panel. [walking over] It's a baby. Poor thing.
Mum:
Me: We should let it out. [examining screws-of-permanence on access panel]
Mum: [insert eye roll & pursed lips] We cahn't let it out. That door is screwed shut.
Me: We can unscrew it.
Mum: Then what?

Well. I had a whole scheme to capture the baby VLC, but then Mum said: "Well, it's got a mother down there!" Then we didn't hear it crying anymore so Mama VLC must've rescued Baby. I was telling (XM) Radio Guy this story last night and he said, "This sounds like another episode of The Hali Chambers Show." Hahahaha

I'm taking Mum to the airport today. She's off to Poland for a Habitat build. She's taking a break from Brother D's kitchen. Haha

Rainy & Green

View from the front porch:

It's been so cold that I've actually fired up the wood stove. I kept thinking, "It's May. May! I shouldn't have to light a fire." So I coulda insisted it shouldn't be cold, but should doesn't warm up my house. So here we are . . .

Nice 'n' toasty.

View from labyrinth:

More tea drinking weather than labyrinth-walking!

So far, no more flooding!

M & M Monday

Maggie is my shadow. She follows behind me and settles beside me. Even if I switch from one sofa to the other.

I have an actual office that I work out of when I'm doing my John Morgan Seminars work. But I'm not a desky person & I prefer to sit on the sofa and spread out on the coffee table. Except I have to make room for Maggie. And so I push the coffee table over. Sometimes it ends up in the middle of the room. Here's Maggie all settled in, with Millie taking her post-breakfast nap:

Zzzzzz . . . .

I've mentioned that Millie gets snarly every once in a while. It's a little game they play with the food bowls. They're quite intimidating, I must say. Millie starts with an Elvis Lip Curl:

Thank you. Thank you ver much.

But then sleep takes over . . .

"Zzzz . . . I mean, Grrr . . ."

Thunk.

Funny Friday

Saw this and thought of you:

You know who you are.

You know those parents who say, "Don't play with your food?"

Because they're gluten free.

You know how sometimes you find lost things when you look between the sofa cushions? Quarters, a hairbrush or Jimmy Hoffa? I thought I found an old fortune cookie fortune, but upon closer inspection . . .

My message from the Universe.

Locust Blooms

One of my favourite trees is locust. The blooms are fading now, but when I took these pictures last week, the whole road was perfumed with locust. BEAUTIFUL. I couldn't decide which shots I liked best, so here are all of them.

M & M Monday

Maggie & Millie coming home from Mystic Pet:

Hanging out on the porch:

Maggie overlooking back porch.

Millie hanging out.

So then I got out their beds for the back porch:

Maggie prefers the porch to a pillow.

Here they are in the yard:

While the girls were outside, I vacuumed. I piled their beds together . . .

Millie likes both beds.

I also did laundry . . .

Maggie sleeps on top of both beds.

These girls are too funny! :-)
