A Few Collages

I've done a few collages recently. I just pulled a bunch of phrases, images, & colours (from O Magazines) that caught my eye and put them all together fairly quickly; didn't think about it too much . . .

Cover of my journal.  [Click on pix to embiggen]

I love the colours of these 2 pages. I only added a coupla things to the page on the left. Such a great illustration for getting rid of "baggage."  Love the tea cup pic on the second page.

V. naturey.

Summer!  And I love the quote, "Believe you can do anything at least once a day."

Again, I did these 2 pages at the same time. The second page is just a page from O Magazine, but I love how the colours coordinate.

Summer!  One of my favourite things is popsicles.

Most of my poetry rhymes, but I think I was channeling Maya Angelou. I called chiro-sis Ruth & read it to her over the phone, doing my best Maya impression--which was pretty easy to do since I've had laryngitis all week.

Haven't finished this one yet, but I love the quote and the cake is so deliciously BEAUTIFUL.  It was Oprah's 10th anniversary for the magazine.

Poem

Tree Hugger Chiro-sister

I'm in the process of writing a book based on my blog. So I've been going thru past blogposts. I've got some good stuff on here. I think, "Wow. That's really good . . . I wrote that?!" Every once in a while, someone stumbles onto my blog, thanks to doing the Googley Thing. Anyway, I don't often get a lot of comments, even tho I know I have a few faithful readers. I had one such pop-by last year & I was curious so I popped over to her sweet blog, The Happy Tree. Makes me smile. Anyway, she had a post of feeling a bit disconnected so I was going to write about accepting the season you're in, blah blah blah. But my prayer was that I write what she needed to hear, not what I wanted to say. And this poem is what came thru:

Dearheart,
You are never alone.
The whole world embraces you:
The sun smiles on your face
The wind kisses your cheek
and whispers hello
The earth says, "I'm here," every time you take a step.
The trees sway and dance with you in the breeze
The stars are there to remind you of the Light
when you're in darkness.
Separation is in the mind.
Step into your heart
Do your art
and you find
connection.

The Labyrinth Path

The Labyrinth Path
Walk with a sense of humour;
it will ease your burdens.
Walk with a sense of ADVENTURE,
and be open to new possibilities.
Walk with a sense of GRATITUDE,
and be receptive to ABUNDANCE.
Walk with a sense of JOY,
and experience JOY with others.
Walk connected to the Earth,
and be grounded in your world.
Walk connected to others,
and have LOVE in your heart.
Walk with intention,
and create your reality.
Walk with God,
and find your place
in this Universe.

Today is your day

Today is your day
to dream yourself awake
Today is your day
life is what you make
Today is your day
to hold most dear
Today is your day
to let go of fear
Today is your day
to give it a rest
Today is your day
to clean up this mess
Today is your day
to give it a go
Today is your day
to give up what you know
Today is your day
to learn something new
Today is your day
your day for you.

courage

There is no perfect.
There is only here and now.
Instead of asking why,
it's time to ask how

You've studied with gurus
masters and chiefs.
Take off the blinders
it's time to see

what God put you here for.
What is your gift?
What are your talents?
What would you miss?

You know what you need.
You know what to do.
It's time to move and
let courage guide you.

Today is a New Day

There is beauty in this moment
of Light across the land
Time to take a breath
Time to take a stand
To do what's right
To call in peace
With open arms
We are free.

May you have a new happiest day in your life. ~John Morgan

Day of Rest

Pictured above is the collage I did on my 2006 planner/calendar: a couple poems I wrote, a couple phrases lifted from some friend's emails that inspired me. A rock wall from Sedona, a sunrise, my first Hand of God painting, still my favourite. A picture of Shiva, Parvati, & baby Ganesh~a Hindu trinity of sorts. Many people think they have a monopoly on God and then try to impose their version of God on others. They create God in their own image and then get mad when others don't agree. Silly humans!

Jerry Stocking says that the definition of love is inclusion. I think that's the nature of an enlightened experience~feeling included and at one with everything. We are in this world to experience, to learn, to grow, to love. That's my belief, what's yours? We find evidence or lack of anything through our belief systems. Is your God a loving God? Is your God a wrathful God? Is your God indifferent? Is your God non-existent? Is the world a playground or a war zone? You'll find evidence for all these, depending on what belief goggles you're wearing.

When you try on a different pair of goggles, you'll begin to see a different world. Colin Tipping says that when you have the willingness to do something, you create a space for it to manifest. You open the door to allow whatever it is, to show up in your life. What are you willing to have a new willingness about today?

Last Minute Gifts

The only poverty is poverty of the heart. ~Mother Teresa

I like creative and caring gifts. Years ago I learned about The Heifer Project from a woman who donated part of a cow on my behalf. Cool! It's an organization that teaches people to fish instead of handing them a fish--except fish isn't in the catalog. That's kind of ironical, innit? $10 will buy one rabbit, or you can buy the whole trio for $30. That's less than a cup a coffee a day. Well, unless it's Starbucks, but you know what I mean.

Heifer Project Poem for the Day
Goats and chicks
and geese and cows
End hunger on earth
this is how
If you're veggie
buy some bees
If you're vegan
buy some trees
Sheep and goats
llamas and pigs
all sort of choices
for Christmas gifts.

HAPPY Birthday, Princess

May you chase butterfly dreams
Ride rainbow moon beams
Hold LOVE in your heart
with ones near or far
Take smiles and laughs
and put them inside
to shine in your eyes
for all to find.
HAPPY Birthday, dear one.
HAPPY Birthday, my sweet.
May today bring JOY
and lots of FUN treats!

Earth's Lullaby from the Labyrinth

Standing in the center
looking out to see
more leaves on the ground
than on the trees.

A twilight time
between waking and sleep
lullaby to Earth
to dream a new dream.

Of LOVE and PEACE
FAITH, not fear
CONNECTED to ones
that we hold dear.

Earthly scent
Heavenly EMBRACE
Deep in PRESENCE
of this SACRED place.

Flow

Fisherman Willie on the Shenandoah

There's a saying that
you never step in the same river twice
because the water is constantly flowing.
Connecting to the flow of life
guides you to your destination
without the struggle and hardship.
It is the power
not the forcing
that creates your dream
Merrily, merrily, merrily....

HAPPY May Day!

In the month of May we gather the flowers
to garland in our hair.
We sisters walk hand-in-hand
going to the fair.
Petticoats rustle
in hustle and bustle
as we make it down the lane
We laugh in good cheer
with each other for fun
and merriment for a day.

Treasure in the Labyrinth

I chose a theme word for this year: treasure. As a noun, it denotes something special, perhaps hidden. It's also a verb: you treasure a person or thing. I've been reading Eckhart Tolle's book about life purpose and thinking that I want to do something on that theme for my next CD.

Remi and I had a little ritual: as I would begin to walk the labyrinth, he would go rub up against the bush at the side of the porch. When I got to the center, he would trot over to me and sit down and lean into me while I pet him.

You know those quiet moments of peace where there are no thoughts or concerns? This was one of them. Looking out at the mountain with the sun on my face, Remi leaning into me. *sigh* LOVEly. And then I heard "Treasure in the labyrinth." That is what I felt. When we went back into the house, I started to write. I thought I was going to write a script, but this poem came through instead. Not the sing-songy rhymes I usually get. Just as I finished up, Mum was at the door and the rest of the day unfolded. It was Remi's last gift to me before he crossed over.

TREASURE IN THE LABYRINTH

What is your treasure?
Hidden inside,
Waiting to be discovered?
Uncovered? Recovered?
What is your dream?
What do you aspire?
It is your treasure
That you treasure.
It is your life’s journey,
Your path, your purpose.
It is waiting for you
To take the leap
Into the unknown
Into the darkness
Into the void that creates
The SPACE for you to grow
Into your BEAUTY
Your GRACE
Your POWER.
You are the gem that has
Been tossed and polished
by the storms of your doing
And undoing.

HAPPY B-DAY, Dr. Seuss

I know you're dead
but if you weren't
I'd give you cake
that wasn't burnt.

I'd sing for you
and maybe dance
and read your books
at every chance.

Your cat and ham
Your JOY and rhymes
have given us such
HAPPY times.

So HAPPY Birthday,
to you now.
Dr. Seuss,
we take a bow.

Today I'm wearing my Cat-in-the-Hat socks for Dr. Seuss. Last night XM Radio Guy celebrated his b-day by giving away his books & some pens as his cheap give-away. Great stuff. I learned to read with The Cat in the Hat, one of my all-time favourite books. He was approached by a textbook company to write a primer, but after he wrote it, they rejected it as inappropriate. So then he went on to fame and fortune. Yay, us!
P.S. THANKS, Mum for reading to me for hours and hours the same books over and over. You're the BEST!

Day of Rest

Through frosty woods of icy glow
Crystal forest, in I go.
Sparkle, sparkle everywhere
winter scuptures standing bare
of leaves or life, it's underneath
a winter surface that is deep.
Sleeping slumber awaiting spring
bringing life to everything.

Heart of a Mother

I wrote this for Claudette this morning, but I think it's for all mothers. LOVE you, Mum!

From the Heart of a Mother

From the heart of a mother
To daughter and son,
LOVE shines through
From the Holy ONE.

Heavenly Father
Guides and directs
This heavenly mother
Nurtures, protects.

In times of Light
In times of dark
LOVE from a mother
Is never far.

Her hand of kindness
Her hand of LOVE
Guided by God
From up above

In Spirit and flesh
In Light, in Truth
This mother’s LOVE
Follows you

From here to there
From near to far
A mother’s LOVE
Is wherever you are.

Sometimes

Sometimes
if you move carefully
through the forest

breathing
like the ones
in the old stories

who could cross
a shimmering bed of dry leaves
without a sound,

you come
to a place
whose only task

is to trouble you
with tiny
but frightening requests

conceived out of nowhere
but in this place
beginning to lead everywhere.

Requests to stop what
you are doing right now,
and

to stop what you
are becoming
while you do it,

questions
that can make
or unmake
a life,

questions
that have patiently
waited for you,

questions
that have no right
to go away.

~David Whyte, from Everything is Waiting for You

3 Strings

I wrote this about a year ago based on this quote:
"A rope that is woven of 3 strings is hard to break."
~Ecclesiastes 4:12
...and of those strings
the most important
is FAITH.
Faith in my Father
Faith in LOVE
Faith that comes
from looking up.
Faith in myself
as God sees me
not in the fears
of what might be.
To hold onto strength
in the Hand of God
to hold in my heart
His whispers soft
of Love and Grace~
the other two.
And in this rope
Faith is the glue.
