HAPPY Saturday

Proper porridge is bubbling on the stove. The girls are snoozing after their breakfast. It's a very ordinary morning. :-) I feel spring just around the corner, even as I'm sitting by the wood stove. Pictured above is a page from a calendar I made for John Morgan with all my favourite Grasshopper quotes with pictures I've taken.

"Acceptance is the catalyst for transformation. Willingness is the catalyst for acceptance."

Acceptance takes away the fight within ourselves. :-)

Cafe Press Calendars

I've been working on 3 different calendars for different friends. Here's a sneakpeek of the cover of one. It's photos from this year that I've taken along my road.

Photo on right is the beginning of our road. There's Fisherman Willie on the top right, and just below is the back of his wife's head as we were heading back from picking blackberries. Summer seems very far away right now!

This is a shot from across from where Fisherman Willie fishes. In the summertime, people hang out on that little peninsula. My friend Paula-of-Overall calls it "Overall Beach." I'm thinking I'll get some summery photos next season and make postcards. Greetings from Overall Beach. ;-)

The next calendar is for my friends who own the Chestnut House just up the road from me. They also own the house I live in. So I did a combination of photos from the first calendar with ones of the house thru the seasons.

This is an animal collage that I didn't use, so I'm posting it here:

There's the baby woodpecker I rescued after it flew into my bay window. And the motherless fawn who came to visit, and the bear is on the lower left. No, really! That's a bear! If I can figure out how to add the calendar to my Cafe Press Store, I'll put a link on the side bar & have these available to buy.

Write it down, make it happen

Write It Down, Make It Happen is a great book. I did mention that I don't have new year's resolutions anymore, but it's because I have goals throught the year. Business & motivational speaker Brian Tracy said that if you just wrote down a list of what you want to accomplish and never looked at it again, you would begin to move toward those things on your list. 6 months later if you were to look at the list, you would find that you had accomplished many of those things. It's kind of like giving an order to the subconscious mind. While you are busy with your daily life, the subconscious remembers the direction you want to go in. I once attended a Science of Mind class with Elaine Silver many years ago. We were instructed to list 100 Things to Do, Be, & Have. Could you do it? Some people got stuck at 5 or 10 or 38. I wrote out 100 things and tucked it away in my journal where I saw it 6 months later. Brian Tracy was right! I'd accomplished 90% of the list, and the other 10% I didn't care about anymore. Time for another 100 Things for 2009.

Day of Rest: 4th Day of Christmas

I've been working on a blog calendar. This is for December: a photo of my Christmas bay window last year with some ornaments I made. Light dusting of snow outside, with pretty lights inside. LOVEly.
