Funny Friday

This put me into a fit of giggles at the stationery store:

Battery operated! How many mistakes are you making that you need batteries? Who is buying this? I can imagine if this existed when I was a kid:

Me: But Muuuuuuum! All the other kids in class have them.
Mum: Well you can just use your rubbers the old-fashioned way!
Brother Atlasta:  [smirk] Yeah, Hal. Use your rubbers the old-fashioned way.
Me: Shut-up!
Dad: Anne! They're called "erasers" in this country!
Mum: Well, I don't know! [to me] Don't say "shut-up" to your brother!
Me: *sigh*  [rolling eyes]

Funny Friday

I have an appreciation for humor. I often say it's the spice of life, but really, it's a major food group. The best is what I think of as "real world" humor; things that happen in daily life that are just funny. Babies laugh an average of 300 times a day; the average adult? 15. Click HERE for a full article on why laughter is important. Seriously.  Putting your humor goggles on doesn't cost a thing, and it makes the world a much more funner place to be. (Yeah, I know, Grammar Nazis). So here's some real world humor: I introduced John Morgan to the wonderful world of quinoa, a v. delicious GF grain. Easy to cook, with a nutty flavor; yummy hot or cold.

John: Key-what?
Me: Keen-wa.
John: Key-wa?
Me: KEEN-WA.

And then John's son saw the mystery grain. And this is what it's called in the House of Morgan:

Keanu: so yummy.
Update: Mum was reading this and said, "Keen-u?"
Me: It's pronounced Kee-ON-u.
Mum: What's a Keanu? Oh, wait. Isn't that someone in the entertainment industry?
Me: Yes, an actor.  [Click HERE.]

Anyway, John sent me that picture & it reminded me of Brother Atlasta's labeling efforts:

In this case, it really is a spice of life.
May today be a FUN & funny Friday for you!  :-) H.

Funny Friday

See my avocado tree?

This is what lurks on it:

The stink bug season is upon us.

I have a live 'n' let live policy pretty much. Unless it's something that stings or is poisonous. And these guys are fairly innocuous. So far, I haven't had the stink part of the stink bug. They fly in the door when I go onto the back porch. Ha ha ha! They think. We're in!  My friend Susan posted this video which I thought was appropriate for the season, so here you go:

Funny Friday: Eeeeewwwwww!

It's funny because it's disgusting. Here's a guy who woke up to find that his dog had chewed off his toe.

I love when the wife says that the dog only ate the infected part, "which was great."  Because, you know. That's what you want in your family pet; one that knows the difference between healthy leave-it-alone human flesh, and the it's-OK-to-consume flesh. Nothing says "man's best friend" like a dog willing to gnaw off part of his master's rotting phalange. It seems to me that if you can sleep thru your dog chewing off an infected body part, perhaps that toe isn't your biggest problem. Celebrating his wife citizenship. Congratulations, honey. Zzzzzzz...thunk....ahhhhh!!! Where's my bloody toe?!!! [literally]   As it turns out, the dog saved his life, so that's good.

Thanks to @skydiver Peter Shankman for tweeting about this. And HAPPY Birthday!  :-)

Funny Friday

Go over there. No wait, stay there. That's it. Stay! There! What could this possibly be about, you may ask?

Can you imagine the marketing meeting for this? "We need something that lets our customers know that they don't have to worry about the the jostling, the juggling, the jiggling. We've got Stay There POWER!"

And they trademarked it.

Random Seinfeld reference:
Frank Costanza: Do you know about cup sizes?
George: Yeah, I know about cup sizes.
Frank: You gotchyer A, you gotchyer B . . .

And for the next bit of randomness:

Stay There Power not required?

Funny Friday

I often look at packaging and imagine the marketing meetings that take place...

Bob: We need a new initiative in toilet paper. Something that says, "New & Improved" without saying that.
Bill: Something that says we're bigger & better than other toilet paper.
Mary: What if we were to super-size our rolls?
Bob: Yeah, but Legal won't let us say, "Super-size." What says, "BIG," without saying "Big?"
Mary: How about "uber?"
Bob: No, the American public doesn't want foreign languages on their toilet paper. Let's go with "Mega."
Bill: I think we need to spell it out. Why don't we include some TP Math?

12 Mega rolls = 48 lame rolls of our competition.

Bob: Thanks for thinking outside the box, Bill.
[Mary sneezes] Don't mind me. Just feeling a little crappy with this cold. My nose is a bit stopped up.
Bob: That reminds me, let's say "regular" rolls.
Mary: And we don't want to leave out the Squeeze Factor from our past marketing. Think about Mr. Charmin.
Bob: Thanks for circling back on that, Mary. Let's go ahead and slap a bear on there with a giant roll. And make sure he's smiling; really enjoying the TP Experience. What else, team?
Bill: Bears are strong, but we should also say that our TP is strong. In case there's any doubt.
Bob: Not just strong. Stronger than strong...
Bill: Ultra-strong!
Mary: You know what I want in TP? I want to know I can count on it. I want--
Bob: Dependability! Good thinking, Mary.
Bill: And do you think we should go bi-lingual on that concept?
Bob:
Bill: You know, so we're not missing out on our foreign demographic.
Bob: Yeah, go ahead and put some Mexican on there.

Because who wants regular, weak, undependable TP?

Funny Friday

Saw this and thought of you:

You know who you are.

You know those parents who say, "Don't play with your food?"

Because they're gluten free.

You know how sometimes you find lost things when you look between the sofa cushions? Quarters, a hairbrush or Jimmy Hoffa? I thought I found an old fortune cookie fortune, but upon closer inspection . . .

My message from the Universe.
