I have been waiting to post this because I didn't want to spoil it for Grace, my YouTube friend in Oz. We had a back 'n' forth on my Tea Time Traveler's Notebook video about my Bible-dori. I had gotten 4 purple pocket bibles (USED--I draw the line at defiling a new bible!) but this one had this on it:

A card for Grace tucked in the pocket. On the right I made a pocket folder, which I think I laminated so it could be used as a dashboard.

That's my favourite gratitude quote. I'm also reminded of Tony Robbins saying that you can't feel angry or afraid when you're feeling grateful. Kind of like how Bruce Lipton says that you can't be in a state of love or fear at the same time, either.

The last insert, with the butterfly, is a 2-year calendar. A bit too long for the Bible-dori & the paper quality is not great. I won't be getting those again, but good to have as a reference. For Americans, tho. Not as handy for the international crowd!

I love discovering new worlds, and thus has begun my Midori-Fauxdori obsession. Midoris originate from Japan and are a kind of notebook where you buy a leather shell, and then you insert individual notebooks. These notebooks can be lined for writing, or blank or made of a sturdier art paper for painting. Fauxdoris are like Midoris but can come in different colours, sizes & materials and are not made by the Midori company. Check out Etsy or Chic Sparrow for some awesome options! There are also Fabricdoris; haven't ventured there yet. But paperdoris are pretty easy to do!
I found some cute little notebooks at Tuesday Morning by Eccolo for $1.99. They are 5 1/4" X 3 1/2" and I measured out my scrapbook paper allowing for half an inch more to those dimensions; so the paperdori is 5 3/4" X 4" Here is the final product I made for my friend Tessa:
This is her favourite quote by John Morgan; Doing diffuses fear. I put quotes on post-it notes and stick them to my mirror in the bathroom. This was one of the notes. I printed this out on some scrapbook paper and then laminated it.

What I would do differently: I would have scored where the elastic bands are, so there wouldn't be that awkward crease. It's not visible when it's closed, but I think it would help better with wear and tear. Another thing I would do differently is that I would NOT laminate the inside because it puckered and I ended up cutting down the middle and overlapping it a bit. This prolly wouldn't be an issue if I'd used a heat laminator.
I punched in a bigger hole to accommodate 2 elastic bands:
About the elastic cord: It was vibrantly rainbowish & multi-coloured & I needed it to be more muted and dark. So I used a black Sharpie marker and dyed the cord.
I used goldish beads to secure the elastic on the outside of the notebook:

This was actually a silver charm, but I used the same gold pen to colour it:

Favourite quotes: Life doesn't happen to you, it happens for you. Sometimes I think that's the only important thing, really. Just letting each other know we're here; reminding each other that we're part of a larger self. You can spend your whole life worrying about ghosts, worrying about the pathway to the future, but all there will ever be is what's happening here, and the decisions we make in this moment which are based in either love or fear. Today is Jerry Stocking's birthday. When I first started working for John Morgan Seminars, John would say, "Jerry Stocking says, blah blah blah." And I would say, "Jerry says that? Hmmm." And then he would say, "And when you go work with Jerry...." Not if, when. So I finally met Jerry last year when I went to Georgia for his Personal Renaissance course. He is an AMAZING teacher and has become a dear friend.

I have doctor-friend who teases me about my dissertations after I've attended a seminar. It's true, I get v. excited when I learn new things. And I get doubly excited when it's in the arena of healing or personal development. Loral Langemeier falls into both those categories, I think. Her Cash Machine workshop is 3 days of financial empowerment and more. So much of what she was saying reminded me of Bruce Lipton. She's growth and expansion-oriented. Just as Bruce says we respond according to our environment, Loral teaches you to create a financially prosperous environment in which you can thrive. And just like Bruce, she's one of the most joyful, FUNny people you'll meet. She's all about breaking through limiting beliefs and past programming to create the life that you've always wanted:

Interesting that these concepts are universal and can be applied to any area of your life beyond finances, isn't it? I watched her work with a woman and she said to her, "You're a very powerful woman. You just don't know it yet." This woman was having a hard time getting congruent in presenting her product. She was shy and feeling awkward and battling against some poverty patterns. Her transformation at the end of the seminar was remarkable. She was a completely different person: powerful, indeed.
There are many reasons that people go to Cash Machine. Some people want financial freedom. They want to get out of debt. Some people want to have financial security. Some people have always dreamed of having their own business. Some people want a big house and a more luxurious lifestyle. Whatever your goals are, this seminar is the doorway to all of that and more. The part I appreciate is that I don't have to know it all before I start. There are people available to put on your team so that you can do what you do best, and they handle the rest. One last quote:

We war with ourselves and each other in our families or we take it into the global village. It seems the world is getting smaller and smaller as travel gets faster and the internet is everywhere. We are so connected--except we are not. Not where it really matters. I was thinking about this yesterday when I was on the phone AGAIN with my internet people because I couldn't get online. I was getting a bit impatient and then I took a breath. I stopped thinking about myself & I thought about this kid on the other end of the phone: doing his job, trying to help me. He has a family. He has people he loves and who love him. In short, he's a fellow human being doing his best, as I believe most of us are.
I would hazard a guess that there will be lots of articles and specials on TV marking today's anniversary. There is no easy answer, but I do know this: when we feel peace within, we carry it into the world.
